Jamison Sellers is a designer and craftsman living and working in Portland, OR. He began his studio in 2009 after obtaining a BFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Using salvaged and reclaimed materials and traditional joinery techniques, the scope of his work ranges from limited production runs and custom one-offs to interior design and build and installations.
Sustainability and environmental responsibility is a primary concern of the studio from the initial design stage right down to the hand-applied natural VOC-free oil finish. The studio's primary wood source is salvaged shipping pallets, each one selected, de-nailed and scraped by hand. Using discarded pallets minimizes waste in the local landfill and presents a varied selection of exotic and other unique woods imbued with characteristics from a previous life of service. Additional work is made with FSC-certified recycled timbers, salvaged flooring and beams, and locally sourced boards and live-edge slabs cut from responsibly harvested and naturally felled urban trees.
Each piece is built to order, allowing dimensions and wood types to be altered freely. Choose from an existing design or get in touch about designing and building a custom one-of-a-kind piece for your home or work.
