A while ago I finished a desk for a client made entirely out of pallet wood. To show the amount of labor that goes into making these designs, here are some step-by-step process shots I took during fabrication.
Slabs
A while ago I picked up some locally grown, air-dried walnut slabs. The first is from a pair of book-matched slabs that stands 8 feet tall and 15″ wide, and close to 27″ across at the crotch. The second slab stands around 6 1/2 feet tall, and 20″ wide at the widest point. They’ve been sitting in my shop waiting for the right project. I’m hoping to get to work with them soon, but seeing as they’re too wide for our joiner and planer, it’ll be no small task.

Foggy Nights
Here are two shots I took near my studio a few months ago, during a foggy, rainy night. Huge backlog of posts to make, and a lot of new things going on, so expect more consistent updates.

A Brief Roadtrip
A few months ago I took a brief roadtrip through New York State on a photog mission with a musician friend. Here are some from the trip. There is another series from the trip I haven’t gotten to yet, that will be up soon.

Vacant
A while ago I checked out an abandoned building in Providence that seemed to be a random dump and/or fire-fighter training spot.

Wasatch and the Great Basin
Back in August/September I was out in Utah for a week. Here are some images from that trip.
First up is Kennecott Copper. They operate the 2nd largest copper mine in the world, visible to the south west from Salt Lake City as well as from space. The mine, in operation for over 100 years, is now 2.5 miles wide and nearly 4,000 feet deep.

Panorama of the mine for a sense of scale.

Tillings pile on the way out.
Timpanogos Caves

A mountain pass on a wildfire-induced hazy day.

Gravel road all the way.

At the top.

Way down.

55.

One of my favorite from the trip.
Google Geometry
Finally got around to posting some of these images. While browsing Google Maps a while ago, a shipping port caught my eye–stack after stack of shipping containers, all lined up with perfect geometry. This turned into a quest of sorts, to find more shipping ports, more containers, and more geometry from above. Here are a few of my favorites. Click here for more.

To start.
This page will serve as new project updates, photos, drawings, etc. To start things off, here is a building in New Bedford, MA. Pieced together from multiple photos. Check back often, many things in the queue.
